Dorothea Johnson is Founder and Chair of The Protocol School of Washington®. She has presented etiquette and protocol seminars and briefings to more than 50,000 individuals worldwide. Clients representing business, government, education, and entertainment have been counseled privately and in groups. Ms. Johnson served as protocol advisor to The Joint Military Attaché School, Washington, D.C. She is the author of The Little Book of Etiquette (Running Press 1997), Tea & Etiquette (Capital Books 1998), and co-author of THE POWER OF HANDSHAKING (Capital Books 2004). Ms. Johnson authors the column Protocol & Etiquette Q&A for the school’s website and Tea & Etiquette for Tea Time magazine.
As a frequent contributor to trade and business publications, her advice is sought by the editors of Martha Stewart Living magazine for the Dear Martha column, and she is currently quoted in more than fifty books. She ranks as one of the most widely quoted etiquette and protocol experts in the United States of America.
Ms. Johnson is an active member of Protocol and Diplomacy International – Protocol Officers Association (PDI-POA).
